As part of each girl's personal development, we teach her to be aware that she is part of a community, both in school and also in the wider world. Our pastoral care system and School Council encourage the girls both to feel valued as individuals and to accept responsibility for the welfare of others around them; regular assemblies, led by adults and children, reinforce this idea. Parents play a very important part in bringing the school community together, and are welcomed into the school. They are kept informed of their child's progress through parents' evenings and reports and also play a very active role in supporting the school's fundraising and social activities through the hard work of the House Committee. Throughout the year, special school events and fund-raising activities for charity reinforce our sense of community and awareness of the needs of others. |
