The Library is a focal point of the school. It helps to enrich and enhance our  curriculum and the school philosophy.  It is in the process of changing from being the traditional literature-focused library to being also a centre of learning and resources. The Library is always open. There are weekly Library lessons for every class when borrowed books are changed, stories read aloud, library and study skills taught and new acquisitions shared and enjoyed. There are over 11,000 books in the library as well as DVDs, posters, story tapes, a television and video and wireless access to the ICT network and the internet. There is a wide range of periodicals and a daily newspaper. School archives, photo albums, earlier school magazines are collated and stored in the Library. It is important that the girls are aware of the fascinating history of their school.

Learning is made relevant by the support of current topics and literature used in class lessons through the provision of books and resource boxes. Pupils also come in from their lessons to source materials with the help of the Librarian. There is Open Library at break times when girls can curl up with a good book or do research on a computer. The Year 6 Library Assistants are efficient and enthusiastic.  The Librarian selects and advises on material for School and Staff Libraries and reads all new children's titles. The girls' recommendations and requests are always carefully considered when new books are bought.
