One-to-one lessons in most wind, brass and stringed instruments, piano, guitar, drums and singing are offered and taught by a staff of qualified and experienced peripatetic teachers. Lessons are weekly and are taught in school hours on a rota basis to minimise disruption to curriculum lessons. As well as learning step-by-step how to make a good sound, read music and play musically, girls are also encouraged to develop practice discipline.  Right from the start girls can perform in front of an audience at the various events such as Music Teas, concerts and class performances, and can join a small ensemble to maximise the fun to be had while playing an instrument.  Children taking instrumental ABRSM grades are given support with aural tests and are encouraged to perform their pieces to an audience prior to the examination.
