Meet the Head - Sallie Salvidant PDF Print E-mail

Sallie Salvidant, HeadI have been fortunate enough to have been the Head at Bute House since 1993, a post I love and which gives me great challenge and satisfaction. I came from being Head of a girls' prep school in Henley-on-Thames. Previously I was Head of a boys' pre- prep in North London, a teacher of huge mixed Inner London primary classes of challenging children in the state sector and I also taught abroad, in North Yemen. My husband is a professional musician who keeps my feet firmly on the ground and is wonderfully patient and, luckily, very domesticated. I am a proud mum, too, of an adult daughter, Rebecca, who travels the world and is currently living in India.

In my time at Bute House so much has been achieved, within a happy atmosphere of positive professionalism and constant support and friendship from parents, colleagues and governors. It is a wonderful place to work; the children are sparky and bright and a pleasure to teach, the buildings are light and welcoming and I meet new and interesting people every day.

I hope that you will enjoy discovering more about the Bute House community and that you might think that it could be the right place for your daughter to be educated, encouraged, celebrated and nurtured.
